The Jordan Alpha Trunner represents an update to one of Jordan Brand’s classic designs.  Instead of going all the way back as with the AJ Alpha 1s, though, the Trunner traces its heritage back to the JB/Nike split, back around 1997.  With the Alpha Trunner, there’s a new lacing system anchored by a carbon fiber-like material, which gives these the look of a more aggressive Nike Air Presto.  These are done in normal shoe sizes, though, and just dropped at Finishline, so head there to pick up your pair.

These were Billy Badass when they first dropped, especially the early releases that come in the white/red/black and the turquoise colorway. They looked bold, felt great and performed well. Even the name Jordan Alpha Trunner was tough. But they had that pesky metal clip at the ankle that caused them to be recalled. And when they did, I held on to my turquoise pair for deal life, wearing them sparingly until it was time to let them go. After that, none of the subsequent designs that followed came near touching the first editions.

Jordan Brand is all set to introduce three pairs of Alpha Trunner this year and all of them are reported to be released in July/August 2010. These are the updated versions of conventional Trunner models. Air Jordan Alpha Trunner colorways include black/white-metallic silver, varsity red/white-black, and black/white-varsity red. All of these colorways look absolutely stunning and very sturdy too.

Designed with exquisiteness, the upper part of these Trunner models are crafted with synthetic mesh. A midfoot strap is also given to provide extra support to the feet. The white midsole is thick and tough enough to prove the name Jordan Alpha Trunner.The look and feel of these sneakers is absolutely clean. “So it’s been one of those tough things that my grandpa’s too old to come to my show, but I suppose if we sing loud enough, he’ll be able to hear us. So this one’s for you grandpa,” she added. “This record’s called ‘Speechless.’ “

Not surprisingly, Gaga’s ever-devoted “little monsters” showed their support for the singer by making #getwellgrandpagaga a trending topic on Twitter. And this wasn’t the first time Gaga paid tribute to loved ones both in her music and in concert. In an interview with MTV News, Gaga revealed the inspiration for the very personal song.

“My mom called me, and I was very depressed. I was on tour and I couldn’t leave, so I went into the studio and I wrote this song ‘Speechless,’ and it’s about these phone calls,” she said of discovering her father had declined to seek treatment for a heart condition.

“My dad used to call me after he’d had a few drinks and I wouldn’t know what to say. I was speechless and I just feared that I would lose him and I wouldn’t be there.”

At the Brit Awards earlier this year, Gaga performed a brief medley of her “Telephone” and “Dance in the Dark” as a tribute to her friend, the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen.
